Situated in the Macedon Ranges, with views of the Cobaw Ranges and Mount Macedon, there is a very exciting development unfolding. Deep in the midst of production is a first class facility for thoroughbred horses . It is being developed and run by owner and industry leader Danny Rose and wife Hanna, who decided to develop a stud of their own.

The drive behind the production stems from Danny’s fifteen years experience and involvement in the racing industry, not to mention the highly publicised Caulfield Cup ride on Inaflury.

The development on the property is rapid and site construction is due to be completed by April 2007.

In 2003 Danny and Hanna visited several studs in Europe, some of which were centuries old and still practiced traditional feeding methods. This inspiration in conjunction with expert advice has resulted in no expenses spared fencing, stables and land preparation.

Since early 2004 it has been full steam ahead. They are now agisting all of their own horses and have met with many leaders in the areas of equine nutrition to form premium diets for their weanlings, yearlings, horses in work, broodmares and stallions. Cherokee Rose Stud use the latest technology called

The Thoroughmixer to prepare all horse feed which is served warm in winter. They have also met with experts in the areas of land conservation to preserve the genetic heritage of local native plant and animal communities and have received a $30,000 Envirofund grant to plant 10,000 native trees on the property. This project is currently underway and is due to be completed November 2005.

Cherokee Rose Stud offers agistment, stallion services, foaling services, sales prep and horse transport to and from the stud.
